Beautiful displays! -Saskatchewan Science Center and IMAX - many spray pad parks.
So much to see in do in this Provincial Capital City. Spent time at the RCMP Heritage Centre, did some shopping and saw a Saskatchewan Roughriders football game. Would loved to have had more time to visit other attractions in the city.
Assiniboia is a regional service centre with pretty well all the businesses and services travellers would want to find in southern Saskatchewan. From a cultural and historical point of view, features are the Prince of Wales Cultural Centre, the Shurniak Art Gallery, and south of town near St. Victor, St. Victor Petroglyphs Provincial Historic Park.
Regina is my birthplace so I am attracted to the city. I love the old homesalong Wascana park. Regina has your typical friendly Saskatchewan people and a wide diversity of culture.
People make the mistake thinking Saskatchewan does not have much to offer. They are so wrong. There's never a shortage of things to do and do recommend the place for a weekend getaway. For starters, the Saskatchewan Western Development Museum should be at the top of the list for anyone to check out. Doesn't matter if you're a resident or a traveller. It's worth it. Great history lesson into what drives the pioneering spirit of all Saskatchewan and how it shaped Saskatoon into the thriving city it is today. Saskatoon may be modest in size compared to the bigger cities within Canada, but not smaller in spirit. Tour the downtown region and really make an effort to check out Broadway Boulevard. Along this stretch you come across a little of this and a little of that and for me, the favorite stop is the Bulk Cheese Warehouse. It, along with the other stores that bring life to Broadway, is a tourist attraction in itself. Wanuskewin Heritage Park, Forestry Farm Park & Zoo, Ukrainian Museum of Canada are worth checking out also. Circle Drive serves as a great artery to get around the city to find whatever you need when it comes to shopping destinations. The one major downside of Saskatoon, unfortunately, is if you miss certain turns you can very easily get yourself quite lost if you don't have a GPS device to somehow.
We were there to attend a family event. It is a small Saskatchewan town, some cute little shops, a great bakery, and a really nice community centre and park area. During the summer there is a great outdoor public swimming pool. Close to Old Post, historic area known for an early skirmish between the Americans/Canadians. The annual Wood Mountain Rodeo is hosted at this site.
To get the local feel for Melfort bunk in at the Mount Forest Farm B&B just out of our little city or at the Canalta Hotel right in the city. Make your way to Smitty's in the early morning to have breakfast with the locals and then head over to the 18 hole golf course. Stop for lunch at the course and head over to the Northern Lights Palace for a refreshing swim. Then hit the shops in the Main Street area. Cats n Jammers is a unique women and children's clothing store that shouldn't be missed. Source for Sports has all the sports gear you'll need and stop for coffee at the Golden Grain bakery after checking out Prairie Boys Antiques. Then wander over to the Quilt Shop, Mund's and Dreams and Décor. If you have time book a Massage at Allied Chiro and finish your day with a walk out to the Reservoir. Begin at Spruce Haven Park, check out the construction of the new Skatepark. If you have more time bike the entire walking path around the city. Backstage Music should also be on your list for shopping at the Melfort Mall. Have supper and catch the game at BPs before you check in for another night at the Canalta! If you are very ambitious you will want to drive out to the Saskatchewan River to hike the cross country ski paths or go fishing or both! Then stop in at the Bear's Den in Gronlid for lunch or supper, they may even fry up your catch for you.
Great green spaces (Wascana Centre), interesting museums (Royal Saskatchewan Museum), wonderful restaurants and cafes. Note to self: Bring mountain bikes next time and stay longer.
Regina is a fun small city, with more going for it than most small cities. It's culturally interesting (there's always something happening) and has many culturally and historically important sites (e.g., Government House, and the Royal Saskatchewan Museum) . Be sure to visit Wascana Centre, too--it is a model of what a truly great city park can be, with a wetlands conservation area, a science center, and lots more. What is most impressive about Regina, though, is that it is perfectly situated to use as a home base for exploring southern Saskatchewan. If you want to see bison and prairie dogs at Grasslands National Park, visit Moose Jaw (a surprisingly interesting town for its size), spend time in the exceedingly lovely Qu'Appelle Valley, or many more interesting adventures, they're all in easy driving distance from Regina.
A surprise. This small city is full of historical sites, wonderful architecture and great restaurants. The Wall Murals walking tour, the mineral spa and the tunnel tours provide great entertainment and history of this south Saskatchewan city.
We had an amazing stay at Midtown Inn. We travel very often and have stayed in numerous hotels but this is one the best motel in Saskatoon or Saskatchewan. The staffs went above and beyond to make sure our stay was good. We recommend this place to everyone! Finally found a place we could sleep peaceful without worrying about someone breaking into your car! Security staffs are awesome!
We were heading south from Highway 16 to Outlook, Saskatchewan and the location was only slightly off course so it worked out well! Breakfast was quite good and I really appreciated that they had proper cutlery, coffee cups and dishes as the disposable type you find in many hotels is so wasteful and not good for the environment 😊. Rooms were spacious and comfortable!
The beds were comfortable. The room was fairly clean. Location was convenient for the Royal Saskatchewan Museum and other business that we had to conduct. Moxies and Denny's were both conveniently located very close to the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Hotel Saskatchewan is a beautiful hotel, rooms are very comfortable, clean.Despite the wait, the cleaning staff did a great job on the room.

Very quiet hotel, friendly service.
Beds were comfortable, room was spacious and shower had lots of pressure.
Friendly and supportive staff. Clean place to stay.
They do not serve breakfast. If they included a continental breakfast then it would be a top notch hotel.
The Jacuzzi suite was awesome. Very spacious, clean and modern. I will definitely stay here again!
